Delta Technical College (DTC) is an accredited trade school that provides hands-on career training designed to help students prepare for entry-level careers in skilled trades, healthcare, cosmetology, or trucking.

Do you provide student housing or dorms?
DTC does not offer dorms or on-campus housing.
However, if you’re interested in finding short-term or local housing during your time at DTC, our Student Success Specialists can help you explore local housing options near campus. Just ask during your campus visit!
Is Delta Technical College accredited?
Yes.
DTC is nationally accredited by the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), which means we continually abide by strict standards for post-secondary educational quality, focused on career-oriented, vocational, and technical training. Recognized by the U.S. Department of Education, the ACCSC ensures schools meet standards in student success, faculty qualifications, and training quality.

What is a trade school and how is it different from traditional college?
A trade school is a post-secondary institution that focuses on training for a specific career or trade, such as HVAC/R, welding, dental assisting or truck driving. Trade schools typically offer hands-on, job-focused training programs that can be finished faster than a traditional 2-year or 4-year college.

Do I graduate from DTC with a diploma?
Yes! You’ll receive a diploma or certificate, depending on your program, after successfully completing all requirements.
DTC does not currently offer degree programs.
What support and accommodation does DTC provide for students with disabilities?
DTC is committed to providing reasonable accommodations for qualified students with disabilities, as required by law.

How do I qualify for job placement assistance?
To qualify for job placement assistance, students must:
- Maintain a 70% or higher GPA
- Achieve 90% attendance or better
- Remain in good standing with DTC
How do I get my transcripts from DTC?
Students can request transcripts by submitting the official transcript request form. Official transcripts may require a processing fee.

Admissions
What are the admissions requirements for DTC?
DTC requires all applicants to the school to provide and/or complete:
- Proof of a high school diploma, recognized equivalency certificate (GED), or documentation of home school completion (with the exception of the CDL Training Course)
- A personal interview with an authorized representative of the school
- Completed Health Affidavit/Screening
- Valid driver’s license, state issued ID, or United States passport
- Must be 17 to enroll, must be 18 upon graduation (with the exception of the CDL Training Course; to enroll in CDL, you must be 18 years of age or older, 21 years of age for interstate travel.)
Additional requirements may be necessary, depending on your program of choice. You can find detailed Admissions Requirements in the school catalog.

How old do I have to be to enroll?
You must be 17 to enroll, and must be 18 upon graduation (with the exception of the CDL Training Course).
To enroll in the CDL Training Course, you must be 18 years of age or older, 21 years of age for interstate travel.

What do I need to bring to my first campus appointment?
Don’t stress! You don’t need to have everything figured out before meeting with us.
Depending on where you are in the process, it may help to bring:
- A valid photo ID
- High school diploma or GED information
- FAFSA or tax information (if meeting with financial aid)

Do I have to enroll if I take a campus tour?
Nope.
Talking to us on the phone, visiting a campus, meeting with Admissions or Financial Aid does not mean you’re committing to enroll.
Your first appointment is simply a chance to:

Can I go to DTC without a GED or high school diploma?
All DTC programs require a high school diploma, GED or equivalent, except for the CDL Training Course.

DTC offers the Penn Foster Program for people interested in earning their high school diploma and continuing their education at DTC.
Upon successful completion of the Penn Foster program, you’ll receive your high school diploma and you will be eligible to enroll in your program of choice at DTC. DTC will continue to support you every step of the way, from orientation through graduation day.

What’s the difference between a GED and a high school diploma?
A high school diploma demonstrates that you have developed a high-school level of education. Although a GED functions similarly to a high school diploma, a high school diploma is widely regarded as a more valuable credential.

Upon successful completion of the Penn Foster program, you’ll receive your high school diploma and you will be eligible to enroll in your program of choice at DTC.

Financial Aid
Yes! Financial aid is available to those who qualify.
Most DTC students qualify for some form of financial aid, such as:
- Federal grants
- Student loans
- Scholarships
- Military benefits

What’s the difference between grants and loans?

Do I need tax records to apply for FAFSA?

Visit your local IRS office and ask for a copy of your tax transcripts. You can also access your tax records online and obtain a digital copy.

No. Students are not paid to train at DTC.
Will I get a refund or stipend while in school?
In most cases, no.
However, some students may receive a refund if their financial aid exceeds tuition costs. This is not guaranteed and varies by student.
DTC does not include a credit check as part of our admissions requirements. However in some cases, a credit check may be required in the loan application process, such as private loans.
But don’t assume you won’t qualify for financial aid because of your credit situation. Many students are surprised by the options available to them.
