2021 Delta Technical College High School Scholarship Winners Announced

Delta Technical College Scholarship Winners 2021

A total of $691,000 in scholarship funds was awarded to 197 high school seniors across six campus locations.

JULY 9, 2021: Delta Technical College (DTC) is pleased to announce the winners of the 2021 DTC High School Scholarship Program for graduating high school seniors!

This year, the program awarded a total of 197 scholarships across our six campuses-two DTC campus locations and four campus locations at our sister school, Midwest Technical Institute (MTI).

In total, these students across DTC and MTI’s campus network will receive approximately $691,000 in DTC and MTI scholarship funds.

The winners were determined through a multi-step application process, which included submitting a video detailing why they are interested in pursuing a career in the skilled trades, such as welding, truck driving, medical assisting, or cosmetology. Finalists then attended an in-person (or virtual) recorded interview. Once all interviews had been completed, the Selection Committee reviewed and scored all the finalists’ application videos and recorded interviews in order to select the winners per campus. Scholarship award amounts varied from Full Ride, $10K, $8K, $5K, $3K and $2K.

DTC recognizes the continued impact of COVID-19 on high schoolers, and was impressed by the dedication, initiative, and positive attitude displayed by these seniors.

We were honored by the number of submissions we received this year. We know there have been many unique challenges high school students faced while navigating graduation and choosing a future career path amidst the pandemic. DTC looks forward to supporting these students as they pursue training for a career in the skilled trades. Congratulations to every single winner, each of you took initiative and showed a dedication and passion for your future through the scholarship process.” – Louie Schonauer, Director of High School Admissions.

Congratulations to the 2021 MTI DTC High School Scholarship Winners!
