Caring for the Delta Technical College & Midwest Technical Institute Community During Coronavirus Outbreak

The Health & Safety of DTC and MTI’s Students, Faculty & Staff is Top Priority

DTC and MTI will continue to closely monitor and follow the guidelines offered by the Center for Disease Control (CDC), the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH), the Missouri Department of Health & Senior Services (MDHSS), the Mississippi Department of Health (MDH), our accrediting agency, the Accrediting Commission of Career Schools and Colleges (ACCSC), and the county health departments’ guidelines for each campus location. DTC and MTI take the health and safety of our students, faculty, and staff very seriously, and are continually cleaning and sanitizing all campus locations, per guidelines from the CDC (see below.)In order to minimize the potential risk, it is very important that all students, faculty and staff practice good hygiene practices, including washing your hands often with soap and water for at least 20 seconds after using the restroom, before eating, or after blowing your nose, coughing or sneezing, per direction from the CDC. If soap and water are not available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60 percent alcohol content.Campus Presidents at each DTC and MTI campus location have ensured that there is ample hand sanitizer available for all. DTC and MTI are taking extra care in all cleaning procedures at campus locations, and while we hope none of our students, faculty, or staff is directly affected by COVID-19, DTC and MTI are prepared in the event they are.To ensure the safety of DTC and MTI students, campus locations will close if necessary, per the guidance of local, state, and/or federal health organizations. If DTC and/or MTI close any or all campus locations, alternative methods of delivery for programs and courses would be implemented to continue students’ education without face-to-face instruction.

PLEASE NOTE THAT AS OF THIS COMMUNICATION, NONE OF THE DTC OR MTI LOCATIONS ARE CLOSED OR PLAN TO CLOSE.
